How do I book the function room?
Give us a call on 01827 932169 or send an email to thelegionatherstone@gmail.com. We will check availability and walk you through everything.
How many guests does the function room hold?
The function room comfortably seats around 76 guests. For standing events or parties we can accommodate more.
Is a deposit required?
Yes, we ask for a small deposit to secure your booking. The amount depends on the event and can be discussed when you enquire.
Can I bring my own DJ or band?
Absolutely. There is a good-sized stage with plenty of height, and a projector screen that comes down for it. Most bands and DJs bring their own PA, so check with us when you book if you need sound provided. Just let us know in advance and we will have the room ready.
What time does live music finish?
Live music typically runs until around 11pm on Saturdays, but this can vary. Private function room events can run later by arrangement.
Is the venue wheelchair accessible?
Yes. Everything is on one floor, so once you are inside there are no steps anywhere, and the toilets are on that same level. The main entrance on Market Street has steps, but there is a side entrance with a slope for step-free access — just let us know when you arrive and we will point you round.
Do I need a membership?
No membership is required. Everyone is welcome at The Legion. Just walk in and grab a drink.
Do you serve food?
We do not currently serve a full food menu but snacks and bar nibbles are usually available. For function room bookings, catering can be arranged.
Can I bring my own decorations?
Yes, you are welcome to decorate the function room for your event. We just ask that everything is taken down and the room is left tidy.
Is catering available?
We do not provide catering ourselves. You are welcome to arrange your own caterer for a function room booking — just let us know your plans when you book.
What time can we have the room until?
Function room bookings can typically run until midnight or later by arrangement. Just let us know your plans when booking.
Is there parking at the pub?
There is no car park of our own — we are right in the town centre, so it is on-street parking nearby. It can be busy and you may not get a space directly outside, so if you are bringing equipment for a function it is worth arriving early. There is a side passageway down to the function room for loading in.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes, dogs are welcome in the pub. Bring them in with you — plenty of our regulars do.
